I am an art historian with a PhD from Plymouth University, where I had the privilege of teaching undergraduate students. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping students discover not only the beauty of art but also the rich historical, cultural, and intellectual worlds from which it emerged.

After leaving university teaching, I realised how much I missed sharing ideas and engaging in discussion with curious learners. I have therefore developed a series of ten-week courses designed specifically for mature students who wish to deepen their understanding of art history in an enjoyable, stimulating, and accessible environment.

These courses go beyond the study of artworks alone. Together we will explore the historical periods in which art was created, examining the political, religious, social, and cultural forces that shaped artistic expression. We will also consider the insights offered by psychology and psychoanalysis, helping us to understand both artists and audiences in new and fascinating ways.

Whether you are returning to a long-held interest, seeking intellectual stimulation, or discovering art history for the first time, these courses offer an opportunity to learn, discuss, and engage with some of the most remarkable achievements of human creativity.
